This article proposes to discuss the problem generated by the New High School in terms of alienation for not offering basic disciplines in the student's education. As a neoliberal project, managed in an anti-democratic way, this “new” format puts an end, for part of public school students, to the offer of subjects such as chemistry. The 15-year-old has to choose his new curriculum, biased by hegemonic ideology, further increasing the abyss of social inequality. The possible consequences of the occultation and scientific (mis)literacy of this project are discussed based on the materiality of the facts.
